The Fool and the King

One day, Bohlul walked into court and sat himself down upon
the royal throne of King Harun. The entire court was incensed by
Bohlul’s impudence, so they began to beat him with sticks and to
pelt him with stones. Then they dragged him from the throne and
threw him out of the palace.
Bohlul dusted himself off and went to talk with King Harun and
said, “I only sat on the throne for one minute and the courtiers
nearly beat me to death! God have pity on the man who must rule
there for his entire life!”

Der Narr und der König

Eines Tages, schritt Bohlul in den Gerichtssaal und setzte sich
auf den Thron von König Harun.
Das gesamte Gericht war entsetzt über diese Dreistigkeit, also schlugen
sie ihn mit Stöcken und bewarfen ihn mit Steinen. Dann rissen sie ihn
vom Thron und warfen ihn aus dem Palast.
Bohlul schüttelte sich den Staub ab und ging hinein um mit
König Harun zu sprechen und sagte "Ich saß nur eine Minute auf dem Thron
und fast hätten sie mich erschlagen! Gott möge demjenigen gnädig sein,
der von dort sein ganzes Leben regieren muss!"
